Why only 100 spots?+
Phase 1 is the Pre-Launch phase. We deliberately start small, with real photographers who contribute quality content. Only in Phase 1 is there Lifetime Free-Access and lifetime earnings. Never again after that.
What does scoon Pro + Studio = €29/mo mean?+
scoon Pro includes unlimited spot access, Scout Mode, offline maps, sun position, weather, analytics and direct messaging. Studio adds the moodboard feature, shadow map, client presentation, team features and priority verification. Together €29/month. As an Early Bird you get both free for life.
How do I get access to the app?+
After your registration we review manually and grant access. You'll receive a personal link for Apple TestFlight (iOS) or Google Play Preflight (Android).
When is the Beta Release?+
The beta launches in the first week of May 2026. Beta users get App Store beta access, but without Early Bird perks.
When is the public release?+
End of Q2 2026, scoon launches in the App Store and Google Play for everyone: influencers, tourists, content creators and all explorers.
How are earnings calculated?+
20% of all monthly scoon revenue is paid out to location creators. The distribution is proportional to the likes of your locations. Those who contribute photos to existing spots increase their spot's visibility and thus their own booking chances. Note: all payouts and lifetime commissions apply only for as long as scoon is actively operated.
Is there a commission on bookings?+
None. Direct booking requests via your scoon profile carry no commission. Communication runs directly between you and the client.
What is the Moodboard feature?+
You curate locations into visual boards by mood, style and lighting conditions and send them as a link to clients. As Early Bird you get the Studio dashboard free.
What counts as a first-discoverer spot?+
You are the first discoverer if you are the first person to list a location on scoon and have personally taken the primary photo. The location must be a distinct, clearly locatable place with GPS coordinates that does not yet exist on scoon. Generic or unlocatable spots are not recognised. Our team reviews every submission manually. Once approved, you hold the creator rights permanently and receive monthly passive earnings from the 20% creator pool, for as long as scoon is actively operated.
What requirements apply to spots?+
Every submitted spot must describe a real, clearly locatable place. Required: GPS coordinates or precise address, spot name, category (Nature, Urban, Architecture, Hidden Gem, etc.) and at least one quality original photo of the location. Recommended: best time of day, season, accessibility (public / permit required), parking info and a short description. Incomplete or unclear submissions will be rejected.
What are the photo requirements?+
All photos must be your own original shots: no stock photos, no AI-generated images, no photos by others. The primary location photo must show the spot itself, not people. Additional photos may include portraits or creative shots featuring people. Technical minimum: 1200×800px, no excessive editing, no watermarks. Legal: no copyright infringement, no portrait rights violations, no photos from illegally accessed locations. Identifiable people in photos require written consent.
What happens if my spot or photo is rejected?+
You will receive an email with the reason for rejection. You can revise and resubmit. A rejection does not mean losing your Early Bird spot, as long as you resubmit within the set timeframe. If a spot is fundamentally unsuitable, you can submit a different one instead.
Can someone else list my spot?+
Yes. Whoever submits a valid listing first holds the creator rights, not who took the photo first. Our recommendation: upload your spot as early as possible once you have beta access.
How many spots do I need for the Verified Badge?+
At least 5 quality-approved photos of locations, either 5 new spots of your own or photos contributed to existing spots. The scoon team reviews and approves every submission manually. Your Verified status is secured only after approval.
What does lifetime mean for earnings and access?+
Lifetime always means: for as long as scoon is actively operated by itanic GmbH. As an Early Bird you have free access to Pro and Studio and receive monthly earnings from the creator pool for this entire period. Should scoon permanently cease operations, these entitlements end without compensation. This is the industry standard for lifetime software licences.
